Salamanca

Salamanca is known for an assortment of different kinds of tourist attractions. Most popular among them are the 16th century Palacio de la Salina and  the Salamanca Bullring. On the other hand it is also known for its great gourmet restaurants, shopping centers, unique buildings, and modern cafes. There also is the Castille and Leon Conference Center which usually hosts a number of events and even fiestas for both locals and tourists. Hike through the old cobblestones at the campus of the Salamanca University which is 800 years old, making it one of the oldest universities in the world.

Take a trip to  a university founded in 1254, even before Columbus discovered America, and realize how the Spaniards considered education as an important part of their culture. Also in Salamanca is The Papal University, another tourist attraction,  because of its Baroque architecture and grand staircase. The Papal University is likewise open to tourists . Enjoy their grand coffee shop, tourists activities and exhibitions and major seasonal events. Also waiting for you there to see and explore is the Solis Palace, a magnificent 16th century building with the most magnificent interior. Salamanca is the place to be when you are looking for great gourmet food, grand bullfights, a couple of Palaces or even a pilgrimage to honor St. Teresa of Avila.
